BabyAGI
Free alternative to: paid AI agent research platforms (no direct match — this is a research experiment)
License: MIT
Free terms: Fully free MIT-licensed code; you only pay for the LLM API and vector DB (OpenAI/Pinecone) it calls.
What it does
Yohei Nakajima's 2023 viral ~140-line Python script demonstrating an autonomous task-management loop: create tasks, execute them, store results in a vector DB, and re-prioritize.
Heads-up: The original March 2023 task-loop was archived and moved to the babyagi_archive repo (Sept 2024 snapshot, license confirmed MIT from the repo LICENSE). The live yoheinakajima/babyagi repo now hosts an unrelated experimental 'functionz' self-building-agent framework (BabyAGI 2.0), also explicitly NOT for production use. Present as historical/educational only.
