What it does
Self-hosted ChatGPT-style web UI that connects to local models (Ollama, llama.cpp) or OpenAI-compatible APIs, with RAG over uploaded documents, web search, image generation, voice, and Python tools.
Heads-up: Seed hint (BSD-3) is now STALE: since v0.6.6 (April 2025), new code ships under the custom Open WebUI License, which prohibits removing/obscuring Open WebUI branding in deployments with 50+ users in a 30-day period; maintainers explicitly state it does not meet the OSI definition. Code through v0.6.5 remains BSD-3. Free as in beer, but not OSI open-source.
